Dr. N. K. Dutta, Principal, Miles Bronson Residential School, Guwahati is conferred with the CBSE National Award for Excellence 2022 in Teaching and Leadership by the Union Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The award was presented by Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Honourable Minister of State, Govt. of India in presence of Smt. Annapurna Devi, Honourable Minister of Education (State), Govt. of India and Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Honourable Minister of Education (State),

Govt. of India at an award ceremony held on 6th September, 2022 at Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi organized jointly by Ministry of Education (MoE), New Delhi, Govt. of India and CBSE. Along with the Award Dr. Dutta received a Merit Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

Covering all the CBSE affiliated schools in India and abroad, three School Principals are selected for this award namely Ms. Dhavala Suseela, Akshara School, Andhra Pradesh; Ms. Minakshi Kushwaha, Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi and Dr. Nripen Kumar Dutta, Principal, Miles Bronson Residential School, Guwahati.

Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS) was founded by Dr. N. K. Dutta with a humble beginning at a small rented house on 16th August, 1987 to provide quality residential education to students from far-flung areas of Northeast region of the country. The founder believes in the shared vision of the school to empower teachers to prepare children for global citizenship with deep moral values and a sound knowledge of our rich heritage with the motto of achieving enlightenment through excellence in education.

Dr. N. K. Dutta, had his schooling from Tuensang Govt. High School, Tuensang in Nagaland. After completing his pre-degree (Arts) from the renowned Cotton College, Guwahati, he completed his Bachelor and Masters in History from Kirorimal College under Delhi University. Further, he did his Bachelor of Education, Master of Education and Bachelor of Law from Gauhati University. He did his Ph.D. in History from Tilak Maharashtra University, Pune.

Dr. Dutta is the son of Late Chandra Nath Dutta and Late Anu Dutta. Late C. N. Dutta contributed largely to society in the field of agriculture in government sector and he was the topper of the second batch of Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam. Dr. Dutta’s better half Ms. Nandini Dutta is the Secretary of Miles Bronson Residential School, Guwahati.

Dr. N. K. Dutta was selected by various National and International organizations like Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad for Strategic Leadership for Schools in a Changing Environment; Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) for Education Leaders’ Programme (EdLEAP).; Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, Boston for Project Zero Classroom Programme; Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, Boston, USA for Leadership- An Evolving Vision Program.
