MBRS Attends RoundSquare International Conference 2025: Beyond The Dunes

The Round Square International Conference (RSIC) 2025 in Dubai was a transformative learning experience for the Miles Bronson Residential School student delegation—an inspiring global gathering that brought together over 40 schools and more than 1000 delegates from across the world. The conference provided meaningful opportunities for the students—Jiwang Tayang, Ansuang D. Marak, and Baiatiplang Shadap—to broaden their global perspectives, engage in collaborative dialogue, and develop leadership skills in an international setting.

Day 1 – Opening Ceremony & Cultural Exchange

The conference began at The Indian High School, Dubai, where keynote speakers emphasised humility, unity, and cross-cultural learning. During the Baraza sessions, students engaged with peers from various countries, exchanging ideas and gaining fresh insights. The day concluded with a peaceful dhow cruise along Dubai Marina, providing moments of reflection and camaraderie.

Day 2 – Environmental Awareness

At The Millennium School, students explored themes related to sustainability and environmental responsibility. They learned about different types of sand found in the UAE and their ecological significance. A hands-on activity on preparing natural neem pesticide demonstrated how simple, practical steps can contribute to sustainable living. The vibrant cultural evening showcased traditions and performances from around the world.

Day 3 – Service Learning

Service Day at GEMS Modern Academy was one of the most impactful aspects of the conference. Sessions focused on gratitude, empathy, and compassion. Interacting with children of determination helped students develop a deeper understanding of inclusivity and human connection. The charity souq, organised to raise funds for a school in Nepal, strengthened their sense of global responsibility and service.

Day 4 – Adventure & Self-Leadership

The day began with an insightful talk by Yogacharya Sanjeev Krishna on self-leadership and holistic well-being. The adventure excursion to Khor Fakkan, Al Rafisah Dam, and Shees Park offered opportunities for students to challenge themselves, bond as a team, and connect with nature through scenic trails and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 5 – Reflections & Celebration

The final day featured a keynote session by Mr. Siddharth Balachandran, highlighting empathy, meaningful relationships, and emotional intelligence. A collaborative treasure hunt at Festival Mall promoted teamwork and cross-cultural bonding. The closing ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel celebrated student achievements, creativity, and the lasting friendships formed during the conference.

RSIC Dubai 2025 emerged as a journey of discovery for the MBRS students—strengthening their leadership abilities, global outlook, environmental awareness, and spirit of service. The experiences from 19th–25th September 2025 will continue to inspire and shape their future endeavours.
