MBRS OBSERVES 72ND REPUBLIC DAY WITH EXHIBITION CRICKET MATCH, CAMPUS PICNIC & BUFFET LUNCH
On 26th January, 2020 (Sunday), Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS) observes the 71st Republic Day in a most befitting manner. On the significant day, all the students congregated at school’s Assembly Courtyard at 8:45 AM with Formal Attire. The celebration commenced from 9:00 AM in presence of Revered Dr. N. K. Dutta, Founder & Principal, MBRS as well as whole staff and students which was conducted by Miss Hiramoni Kherkatary, Chairperson – Students Council, MBRS (Class XI Science).
The welcome address was extended by Miss Hidangmayum Deneila Devi, Editor – Students Council, MBRS (Class XI Science) where she reflected upon the most important building blocks of the country which are Unity in Diversity and Secularism. This was followed by melodious patriotic number presentation from the junior Bronsonians.
The tricolor was unfurled by Dr. N. K. Dutta, Revered Founder & Principal, MBRS. In his address Dr. Dutta, extended a Republic Day Greetings to the entire MBRS family and in resonance to a deep serene and patriotic feeling explained the significance of the three colours of the National Flag. He stated that Saffron represents Sacrifice; White for Purity & Green for Peace and “Ashok Chakra” which consists of 24 spokes which stands for Movements of Life and Stagnancy when Stops. Dr. Dutta also expressed about the historic significance of the day by referring “Purna Swaraj” and with a feel of nostalgia he recapitulated his experience when he went to watch and witnessed the grand spectacular Republic Day Parade hosted at Rajpath in New Delhi in the Year 1984 where Late Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister who laid the wreath to Amar Jyoti Jawan and His Majesty King of Bhutan Jigme Singye Wangchuk was the Chief Guest. He also stated about Sabarmati Ashram, when he was selected for the Leadership Program by CBSE at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. Dr. Dutta in course of his speech made a clarion call to all Not To Depend on International Brands and everyone should escalate their creativity and innovative mind to produce articles at the homeland itself by being Creators and Not Just Consumers.
This was followed by a thrilling patriotic group dance presentation from Miss Yashita Sharma (Class IX), Miss Rajroshni Khwairakpam (Class IX) & Miss Hainrikhidi Nunisa (Class VIII) which received great applause from the audiences. The vote of thanks was extended by Miss Deflina Rabha, Cultural Secretary, MBRS and during exeat, chocolates were distributed amongst all students and staff.
The most fascinating episode was the Kite Festival which was Inaugurated by Revered Dr. N. K. Dutta at school’s football ground where students highly enjoyed by making kites to fly in the sky which also brought motivation to all. Eventually two spectacular friendly matches Students Vs Teachers Cricket & Junior Boys Vs Senior Boys Basketball were played which drew a major charm of the event and in view of the event, a scrumptious lunch was extended by Dr. N. K. Dutta and Mrs. Nandini Dutta which was relished by all students and the whole staff.
