MBRS hosts CBSE Regional Science Exhibition
Guwahati: A two day Regional Science Exhibition of the North East Chapter under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education got underway today at the Miles Bronson Residential School , Borjhar, Guwahati. The event was inaugurated by Dr Jagdish Barman , Joint Secretary cum Head of the Centre of Excellence, CBSE Regional Office, Guwahati . The exhibition is participated by 96 students from 29 schools from the North eastern Region. A total Models related to scientific progress representing the creative and technical skills of the students is displayed in the event.
The exhibition covers the the sub themes of Advancement in Information and Communication Technology, Eco-Friendly Materials Health and Cleanliness, Transport and Innovation , Environmental Concerns,, Historical Development with Current Innovations and Mathematics around Us.
It is divided into two categories Junior from classes 6 to 8 and Senior from classes 9 to 12.Students selected from this will be a part of the National Level Exhibition. The winners of the event will be announced by National Council of Education and Research ( NCERT), New Delhi
The Founder and Principal, Miles Bronson Residential School emphasised the need of to encourage creativity and innovation among students. He mentioned that the exhibition enters three distinct domains of innovation, usability and low cost .He highlighted the transformational change in present times where science and technology is increasingly becoming an indispensable part of our day – to – day life. Highlighting the theme : Innovation and Toy he highlighted how toys can used to develop a child’s curiosity and love for science. And what better way to do this then through play. Toys allow children ample opportunity to learn all kinds of scientific lessons, from cause and effect , to how their bodies work, to lessons on natural world around us and what lies beyond us in the us in the universe.
During the exhibition students displayed exhibits on various subjects like wireless communication, eco- friendly materials , bio- sensors , hydroponics in environmental concerns and the future of agriculture
